Military Summit 2013

Of the many opportunities the LORD has blessed me with in ministry since moving to Northern Virginia, one that I’m most thankful for, and proud of, is partnering with the Honor Guard Chaplains. For the past two years, I’ve been able to preach and lead worship for a front line ministry reaching soldiers and their families called the Joshua Generation.

Through that relationship, I had the chance to lead worship with Chaplain Matt Canada for the 2013 Military Summit on Ft. Myer. The Military Summit is a formal collaboration between Military Chaplains, Pastors, Lay Leaders, and Military-Focused Parachurch Ministries who are passionate about ministry to the military in the National Capital Region (NCR) Communities.

I’ve heard it said that humility is strength under control. Well, there are few more humbling experiences than standing in the midst of war heroes, active duty and retired chaplains, veterans, pastors, lay leaders singing boldly and with hands raised to God, “Oh praise the One who paid my debt and raised this life up from the dead!”

Worship was followed by Lt. General William “Jerry” G. Boykin (Ret.).
